What does rescue medication mean?

Dimenhydrinate (e.g., Vomex) and alternatively cyclizine or meclizine are described as recue medication for this study. Rescue medication may be taken in the standard daily prescribed dose no more than 2 days per week.
Other medication (beside dimenhydrinate or cyclizine or meclizine) e.g., for headache remedies or cold remedies are not categorized as rescue medication, but also need to be documented in the eDiary. Long-term medication taken on a regular basis must not be documented as long as there is no dose adjustment, and your study doctor is already informed about this medication.
